Robb Zimmel

Owner/Winemaker

 

Robb Zimmel, a U.S. Army Reserves veteran who served as a combat medic in Iraq and Afghanistan, found himself needing a change. He was stationed in the medical tent and was responsible for the 24/7 care of the teams’ patients, which took a toll on him. Deciding on a career change, and after researching, he found a wine science program at Washington State University. Despite initially hesitating, he eventually took the leap and graduated with a degree in viticulture and enology. He now co-owns Zimmel Code Cellars, and he reflects on his decision to switch careers as something he needed to heal and take care of himself all the while still care of others
